I love this time of year. My first foal has arrived safe and well. She's bred to event and looks as if she's going to love galloping and jumping as she's the bounciest foal I've ever seen. Her mum is an angel with her, calm but protective, even when her foal is galloping laps round the field.

I've bred this one to (fingers crossed) be a 4**** horse. She's by Persiflage, a 3*** eventing stallion. Persiflage is by Primitive Rising, 4th on the all time great sires list in British Eventing and from the dam line of Tamarillo who won Badminton, gold at the European championships and silver at the Olympics.

Her dam is by Upton's Deli Circus, a European gold medallist and sire of 4**** eventers. Her granddam was an outstanding bloodhounding horse, clearing 1m80 many times cross country and competing to PSG in dressage. She was in the top 45 in the UK at Medium level, ahead of Olympic riders and literally thousands of warmbloods.

Her dam line has produced a 4**** Olympic horse and a supreme champion at Wembley.

Oh she's lovely. :D

I know of Persiflage as my grey's sire was bred at Biddeston, although he's pure arab rather than an anglo-arab. That stud really does have wonderful horses.

Thankyou everyone for your lovely comments. Persiflage is an underrated stallion and Biddesden a bit of a hidden diamond of a stud. We have some super stallions and breeders in this country.

This one is going to stay chestnut. You can tell by the colour of the skin round their eyes when they are less than 24 hours old. Chestnuts have pumpkin coloured skin, greys have black coloured skin. The skin darkens after the first day so you can't tell afterwards.

I'm ever so pleased with this friendly little bouncy ball. :)
