after backing moses a few weeks ago i have been hacking out with a steady companion, so far the weather has been humid and still, but tonight was a test! got him in he was on his toes...tacked up and left the yard went about a couple of miles and apart from a few baby wobbles he was great, had a jump at some deer, and then some acorns dropped on us, the wind was rising all the time but he behaved better than some older horses i know! he even went in front for the last 100yds or so home - his new trick in to plant on the spot and bounce if made to go in front.....so i sat tight and introduced him to "mr stick" and we were off, with lots of "good boys" and pats for going forward away from his friend, forgotton how youngsters try all these tricks! going to go on a slightly busier route on sunday and venture a little further, hope i survive that one!
