Well off we trogged to the beautiful Shropshire countryside to do our first ever BE today.

Dressage: well for a shire/TB donkey I thought it was ok, apart from the wrong canter lead...... the judge thought it was a bit pants though and gave us 46!! basically said we were too tense which is dead right but i think it's nerves.

SJ: was tiny but he went as sweet as a nut for a nice clear

XC: flew round and he must be long striding as we got no time faults( mind you we did a few sharp turns to cut corners )

So finished the day on dressage score which i was really pleased with and came 15th in section.

Had a fab day stewards were all really helpful and met up with friends old and new plus a HHO (always a bonus)

Got llanymynech nxt week

Naww hon, im just a struggling wannabe.

The next one will be easier youll know what to expect so hopefully you can control those nerves a little better in the dressage

and then if you can pass on the secret I might do a little better too lol

I thought your xc looked good today, so well done, I wasn't commentating at the time, just on control. I wasn't sure about the SJ height in the intro, was it small, or did it just lok small because the intermediate fences were all of 5 metres away in the next arena, I couldn't decide (but I didn't actually walk the course).

Missed your dressage but thought your show jumping and xc were superb. I agree the show jumps were not the biggest but I can assure you there were loads and loads of faults. You would not believe how many stopped at the first one. Boris was one of the few who went round flowingly not a sticky jump to be seen. And it was a cracking cross country too. He is a gorgeous looking horse, very handsome. We also loved the little 14.2 welsh, a chestnut, he flew round the xc but had a fence down show jumping. Sorry didn't come over to say hello, thought you might have been trying to keep focussed. Don't suppose for a minute you were looking at spectators but we were the 2 with a GSD by fence 3 on XC who gave you a cheer as you went past! Very impressed if that was your first into, best of luck for the next one!

Hi - lovely to meet you - it's a small world...

I am now a member of the Boris fanclub - I think he's fab! I know you were a bit disappointed with your dressage score but he just flew the rest and you did so well to say it was your 1st time. You and Boris were so chilled out
