Gareth had his first lesson on new horse today, she has been an angel, left rein bit stiff cos being polo horse they tend to turn right much more than left. She has hacked out and gets along with big lad in turnout area.. She just very hairy at mo and moulting, hair all over me today.
First on horse Polocrosse training tues... Onwards and upwards as his trainer says..

How exciting!

Know how you are feeling- we bought an ex- racer, ex- polo pony in Dec for my daughter to do beginner level polocrosse and for me to hack. She is just gorgeous but is only 8 yet has the body of a 20 yr old !
I am hoping she stays sound. We have our first practise tomorrow.

We have just dipped out toes into this polocrosse thing but she is completely hooked! I am finding everyone very friendly and encouraging.

Which club?? We are in celyn... First on horse training next tues... New horse is 12 but quite sound, has been used in the polo school to teach off, she passed 2 stage with just one tenth lame on one flextion test on one leg, I can live with that... Polocrosse is not as demanding anyway.. Good luck to you, my son is 14.

My daughter is in Vale Impi and she has just turned 15.
It's a small world in polocrosse isn't it ? I am sure we will be at the same tournament sometime this Summer!

I didn't get our mare vetted as I felt sure she would fail flexion tests and I had already decided to bring her home for some love and attention! If she isn't up to it she will just have to hack gently with me...... She is on a lot of joint and gut stuff and is looking great.

I hope Gareth has a great season with his new horse; sounds just the job.
