Took 3 year old Finn out for his first little trip today.
He had a proper bath for the first time and was a good boy standing still to have a good scrub!
He then loaded without a fuss. It was his first time travelling in a trailer so I was quite nervous. He was a little fidgety on the way but unloaded calmly and walked straight up the ramp to be loaded on the way home and travelled like a lamb ??
We went to a friends yard and then we walked up the road together to a local polework clinic.
I really couldn’t fault Finn. He arrived at my friends and was happy to be tied up to have boots off etc despite loose chickens and donkeys around which not sure he has seen before! Then pootled up the road calmly. Arrived at the venue and he was happy watching the last sessions horses box up and leave. Walked calmly around the arena taking in all the poles and mirrors and was happy for the other horse to trot off and warm up etc whilst we did our own thing.
Practiced walking over some poles and just generalmanners while leading with encouraging him to match my pace.
Really happy with the chappy! And the best thing about it was that we went with my lovely old boy Arlo for those that remember him. He looked fab and was so nice to see
