Just had the first proper downpour (near London) for what seem's like months. Hoorahh!

I'm hoping this has stabilised the surface of the school and I'm going to try and use it tonight. I've not used it for absolutely ages, as its a sand surface (non waxed, I don't even know if it's silica sand?) and when it gets too dry it loses stability, and it hasn't got a proper membrane so all the stones rise to the top.
Oh, and as soon as the lightest of frosts come along, it freezes solid, so it's out of action for most of the winter too. It's Horrid :(

I have been schooling in a field instead of the school, until last month when I got bronked off and concussed, and then the ground got too hard anyway to be able to canter.

Anyone else have to make do with a school that sounds as bad as this?

Im so pleased it rained but we need lots more :(

I dont have the luxury of a school just a fenced of paddock, it yellow, dusty and hard so not been able to do much.. but my tack has all been stolen so I cant really ride unless bareback and dont fancy hitting the ground its like rock :(
