First proper groom of the year!!

Yesterday I gave my mare her first proper groom of the year - not a quick flick over, but a good 2 hour grooming session in the sun, whilst she ate hay (for a change!). She is just starting to molt now and her long winter belly hairs are coming out, and she is going much lighter.

I groomed all her fethers, which are growing back nicely (all shaved off when I bought her in sept in some silly attempt to make her look like a show cob) She isnt keen on her back legs being groomed and gave me a few looks as if to say 'do that much more I'll give you a flying lesson'! but she didnt and looked quite respectable.

It makes you feel so much happier when the sun is out

- til someone on the yard said 'yeah well the flies will be here soon!'

did she go straight out n roll? my boy generally finds the worst mud he can!
