Tonight I had my first proper ride since I broke my ankle - I've been on Dan a couple of times but I though I'd benefit from riding something else, so I rode Jemstone off here's lovely Polly

My lower leg on my broken side was so out of control it was unreal and my riding really wasn't up to scratch but I had a little canter and wasn't armoured in my usual body protector and armbands and cotton wool

But I feel like I'm not put off riding as much as I was, Polly is really well schooled so I could concentrate on myself (and she is very forgiving of my riding) and it feels great to be riding again

But I wore a skirt for first time this week... and some one *who didnt know I'd broken my ankle* Commented on how nice my ankles were

I never do skirts so nobody will be seeing mine, which is still swollen a bit (was big last night and kept me up til 4am

) but it is bruising again

and looks like the inside of a cow's hock.

Methinks some symettry straps are in order

How's your ankle bearing up? x

Bearing up is word.. Not at all happy atm but I think its coz I'm poorly with flu and rain always buggers it up. Strange isn't it! I went ride the horse I did it on *no one touches him but me* Tacked him up looked stirrup and relised it was totaly bent, Which confirmed I did the damage under having horse ontop of me.. all I remembered was going very first and osca scrabbling to feet and trying not get in his path... So explains why had so much trouble with mine even tho break wasn't awful. I haven't done that much riding as been pretty busy, but move yards 2mo where I will be backing, and schooling my younger so plenty of riding!

Oh and I hopped on me bad leg other day

Hey Viv,

You looked really good on Polly tonight and she was a star as ever! Wont be long til you will be riding without the pain bit, hopefully!

She is such a nice horse to ride and is always available if you need a confidence boost!

I think once I get back into the swing of things I'll look better on her, she's lovely to ride

Hoppings good, I tried doing star jumps the other week but my bad leg didn't follow but I'm hoping the more I do the better the muscles in it will get.
