first ride on t.b

People just don't want you to get hurt, they are happy to help but you also need to listen sometimes. They didn't know what help you have as from your post it seems you didn't have correct advice as if you did the retraining person would have never let you get on the horse straightaway.

she is a trained instuctor ans specialised in race horses none of you need to oorry about my horses im there from 9 till 5 and they want for nothing as i have just got t.b i stay all day so i know how she is settling in how much hay she os going through. most of you are really insulting! im not good enough to own horse is what people are basically saying!!

I never got reins over his head as I said there was awoman in arena with me how the hell would I get reins over a bloody horse when I'm in saddle and no I'm not an incredible rider my heart was racing and I only stayed on as I gripped the punnel of saddle and held on tight my god

A trained instructor specialising on reschooling racers that let's you get on for the first time in months for the horse straight away being lead with no reins. Hmmm! Think you might need to find some better help chuck!

If you are there all day, what do you do with your children? It's school holidays

Why would anyone post about buying a horse not seen ridden. Says it all really. Beware anyone who lets you buy a horse you have not seen ridden. Your heading for trouble from the start as they themselves don't care about the horse they are selling especially if your not experienced. Do as everyone else says whilst your alive and get some help before you end up in a wheelchair/dead or worse kill someone else.

and I am not being judgemental or nasty just giving you serious advice.

Sorry but it is not that simple, I know of a pony bought for an experienced grandchild, said child rode pony, everything fine, pony passed a 5* vetting, got it home and had problems from day 1, turns out this 5yr old pony had KS, vetting vet admits this pony isn't now behaving as the vetted one did and is now bricking it at the resulting vet tests, this has cost the new owners thousands, seller denying everything, end result, grandchild hasn't a larger pony to compete on, grandparents don't have the grazing for a field ornament,
me, I would have taken it back at once, I haven't figured out how the seller conned the buyers yet, but my gut instinct says they did, not all horse deals are clear cut

But you've got to consider how all this comes over. Only 6 days ago you were posting that your Lusitano was 'testing you to the limit' and now, suddenly, you can put a child on the horse. You said you had an instructor coming who specialised in re-training racehorses - is this the same woman as the one a few stables down or a different one? And I agree that no decent instructor would condone you getting on any horse - let alone a tb- that hasn't been ridden for months, that you have never ridden and that you've never seen ridden.
You say you've been around horses for a long time but you are asking advice about some pretty basic things on other threads. And it's the 'pommel' of the saddle, not the punnel'. Just being with your horses from 9 til 5 will not make them any safer. All of this is very worrying I'm afraid.

There have been quite a few bridges lost to the flood waters recently. Maybe this one is now homeless and seeks the sancutary of the forums until a new troll bridge can be found.

So what does your trainer suggest you do now? and what did she say about the horse bucking?

I don't honestly think op is a troll, I think she's one in the many of horse owners out there without a clue x
I know what you mean, but there's something vaguely familiar about the style...several horses (hard to keep up with the exact number), specialist instructors on tap, horses going from very difficult to angelic in a matter of days, some very basic questions (eg is chaff bad?) plus bizarre incidents here and there....anyone else remember stuff like this from the past?

My children have been at their dads since Christmas is my parenting skills getting questioned now?

I don't think so people can be a bit harsh on here at times I'd say your spelling and grammar lend you no favours.. I'm scottish and I'm struggling at times reading your posts. You sound perhaps that you and your TB would benefit from some freelance lessons, I can reccomend Katie Barr and Andrew Hamilton from the Lanarkshire area. If you dont like peoples opinions(which is understandable) forget them and talk with an instructor rather than judgemental people online of whom could be anyone. As could you.

With you here.... almost a hho holiday tradition. Step 1) funny/ weird post which is barley legible. Step 2) someone asks the op a question/ doubts the story/ experience and gets called s bitch....
Step 3) hho's argue about whether the op is a troll/ numpty/ child and we all fall out/ call each other names meanwhile orginal poster slinks off laughing like dudley from wacky races.....

I think I could have written the script about a week ago!
Next we will hear about the dinner party with the QC and criminal psychologist!

Just looked through a few other posts..
Apparently she went to see a cob on the 23rd but it was dragging its feet...in spite of this it was 'too bouncy' and TBs are preferable because they give you a 'better and faster ride'. Hmmm. The Lusitano comes over as a handful but in just a few days is safe for a child to ride. Apparently the age difference is explained through autocorrect changing 29 to 26 (I had no idea that autocorrect did such a thing) or maybe just pressing the wrong button. And amidst a backdrop of very basic questions about feeding and some scary stuff about towing, there's a description of what was supposedly an excellent ride in an arena with three people trying to stop a fast horse who nearly ran into the fence. Although the reins were, at one point, over the horse's head (and the rider only stayed on by a miracle, holding on to the pommel), at some stage things changed because there's a question about slack or tight reins.
Oh, and there's some reference to taking a £29 course in stable management...but at the same time, the owner is certainly experienced and capable enough to take on an ex-racer, bought after a 2 minute viewing which did not include riding the horse or seeing the horse ridden, let alone a vetting.
If it's not fiction, it's very worrying indeed.

One of the people running around the arena trying to stop the horse has a cousin whose partner is a QC. The woman a few stables down who is a specialist is ex-racers also does a bit of work as a criminal psychologist. The saddle that was being held on to was an older model of WoW saddle with no creases. The only bit I can't explain is the changing sex of the TB. But there's probably a specialist in equine hermaphroditism somewhere on the scene.

I think that I and many others hope it is a troll ! If it isn't my overriding concern is for the poor horse!

If you wrote a list of everything not to do buying your first horse, I think you have achieved them all!!

Don't know why i'm writing this really its not helping my depression !

This pretty much sums everything up. I too had a look through other posts and was confused!
I don't believe she's a troll. I actually think she's genuine, although with a lack of basic English grammar, a habit of changing story or stretching the truth maybe...I genuinely think she does have an ex racer she bought within 2 mins of clapping eyes on. Scary stuff :(

I nearly said something rude about Scotland then. Sorry !

I think this is the case too. He/She can be explained by the bad grammar, and on a pin code pad 6 is above 9 so this could explain the age change.
