I had my first ride in 8 mths on Thursday! I gave up at 5.5 mths pregnant as the bump started to be more awkward and was starting to get bad hip pain.
Now bubs is 14 weeks old, I feel like I can get a bit of me-time back and so I booked myself a half hour lesson at a riding school I used to go to. OH can along to watch with the little one, but she was a bit unsettled so he ended up pushing her round the yard in her pushchair
I asked for a nice quiet coblet to ease me back into the saddle and my instructor introduced me to a big black mare called Fizz! Turns out not to be too fizzy by nature and once I got on board I found her really comfy. FIzz was rather stiff down the left side so we worked on bending, circles and serpentines. Before I know it we're doing some canter work and trying to get some consistency in the speed. Very enjoyable lesson overall and I was rather surprised when the instructor said I had a pretty good seat!
Yesterday my legs decided that they disowned me and haven't completely forgiven me this evening. I'm not listening to them though and booking my next lesson and even considering looking for a new share pony.
Sorry this turned into a bit of a long one but I feel great about the whole thing and want to get back into it

Its a great feeling to be back in the saddle, sure your legs will forgive you in time lol
