I went to a riding school up to the age of about 11, and have had lessons on my own horses in recent years.
Well, one of them has knocked my confidence lately, so in an attempt to bring it back up to usual (fairly confident....) levels, I booked in at a local riding school that I thought would be quite good.
I had a one hour private lesson, on a nice horse that was rather bigger than I was used to.
and oh my god!! I obviously don;t ride 'properly' these days!! I had the lesson on tuesday and am aching like you wouldn;t believe!!
The good thing is, it really helped. The instructor told me she was pleased to teach someone who could ride, and I did work without stirrups for the first time in years!! Which I was quite nervous about actually, esp. canter, but I overcame the nerves and did it so pleased.
The horse was lovely, he ignored me for a bit until he realised I could do it 'properly' and then was fantastic.
I will be tryign to make it fairly regular, as I really think it helped me.
