First show of the year got off to a bad start when a stallion was allowed to get too close, kicking both back legs at me and catching me in the calf and knee. Thankfully he just about missed my filly, possibly giving her a slight glance on the rear but im not actually sure. It was just as i was walking into my class so in all the shock i walked in, cause i could not get back out with him behind me and the only way to go was into the ring. She obviously didn't show very well but was still placed 4th in a big class. An equine vet nurse happened to be there and she was able to help me get her hosed down and apply some freezing spray just in case she got hit, and i then asked the show organiser if i could trot her up for them and have an opinion and they said she looked fine to show, so we did our other class and got a second, which was FAB cause it was again a big class and i *know* ill never beat the horse who gets 1st, so 2nd is well earned for me
If i stopped moving or sat down, my leg throbbed like mad, so with that i went on to show about 4 other horses in about 6 classes/championships for people coming away with another 2nd and 2 3rds
One of the thirds was for a driving class, which im proud as punch for cause i have never driven in public before and the kind lady who let me have a go couldn't have been more helpful. The judge was also very kind about my filly, she said she was really well put together and looked great, i just needed to tweak a few things about how i present her to show her off to her best (which explains how i went from 4th to 2nd) so all in all it was a good show
no photos as usual which is a shame, but i did get one of me driving which is a bit blurry as it was taken far away lol.
