So today me and Diva had our first show together! I’ve not done one in a good few years and she’s only done the odd one as a baby, so nervous for both of us to start with
we came home with a first and 2 seconds, out of classes with 7/8 in which i was more than happy with, not so big that i felt like we didn’t stand a chance but big enough that i didn’t feel i was just there to make up the numbers
the same mare won our last 2 classes, so to stand 2nd to her for both was a bloody honour because she was lovely - local level but a memorial show so supreme championship etc, hence a few ponies that would normally be far too pretty to bother with the show haha.
absolutely couldn’t fault her in the ring, although she was knackered by the 3rd class so we didn’t stay for the championship because it wasn’t fair. outside the ring was another matter, she’s not remotely spooky but she didn’t half bounce around walking to and from the ring etc, couldn’t believe my eyes when she reared up with my mum the little monkey was thankfully only a very half hearted one haha.
downside is that she reached up to grab a leaf off the tree we were standing under for the shade, proceeded to spook at said branch moving and plonked herself right on my foot, and i still had the last class to go unfortunately i fear it may be a trip to minor injuries tomorrow whilst diva enjoys her day off in the field
all in all chuffed to bits with her, especially to say she wasn’t quite turned out to the standard i would’ve liked because she refused to part with her billy goat beard
