Trying to work out whats best for yearlings first show.... if I were to have a helper would I be best to take one out of the lorry and leave the other on while one shows. Or to stand one outside the ring while the other shows?

They're not really used to being separated so whoever is left alone in the box is likely to scream....

What's best or is it a case of trial and error!?

Where are you roughly? Perhaps there is someone on here whocould suggest a helper? I've helped before if I will be at a particular show.

If you can find your own helper then I would leave the pony on the box and them to supervise. Saves locking everything up too. You can always lead the pony around to get used to the sights when you return to the box

personally I would try and practice separating them a bit at home, even if its just to leave one in the stable whilst the other one goes a walk.
If taking a yearling its best to have a helper as they can be wee monkeys when it comes time to load etc or to stand still getting tidied.
My yearling first time left on the lorry herself, reared a bit, screamed a bit then ate her hay, I stayed with her for the first few mins then when she got over her tantrum retreated to a watching distance.
Sometimes having a friend at the ringside can calm them, sometimes it can wind them up.
We tend to expect them to get on with it as we are usually busy at shows, try to prepare them for the day and hope all goes to plan.
