I have a Welsh Sec D bright chestnut with flaxen mane and 4 white socks. What colour tweed would be best to wear and what colour trousers for inhand showing?

Thanks

wear dark trousers do show of the light legs!
as for the tweed, i think alot is personal preference, there are some colours of tweed which i dont like, i have a dark greeny colour with brown check.

A lot of people do not bother wearing jackets for in hand showing. Type in Welsh cob and click on pictures off google and you should see - or take a look at a few stud web sites and they all have archive pictures of them showing.

I usually wear black joddy boots, black trousers, white shirt and red tie. Some wear flat caps but some just headscarves or alice bands or a neat pony tail. Some also wear waistcoats.

My suggestion would be to take a hacking jacket but whip it off if the others aren't wearing one! It is supposed to be bloody hot this weekend!

Format is usually, walk round until asked to stop by the steward then in turn trot from front of line round arena to rear of line. Then walk on until called in. Then individual show is pull out pony to front of judge, get them to stand square in front of judge with ears pricked towards bit of grass waving in front of nose. then walk away front judge and then turn right and trot back straight at judge - judge will move out of the way! then on and round the arena until judge stops looking at you.

Good luck!
