I'm thinking of going to a local showing show thats in a couple of weeks but before I definatley enter I have a few questions (I have never done showing before so bear with me :) )

The classes I where going to do are novice ridden and ridden tack and turnout.

1. Would beige jhods be ok? I don't have the yellow ones

2. would I be allowed to wear my long boots or would I need jhodphur boots?

3. My share horse has a dressage and a jumping saddle, which one would be the best one to use?

4. Would I be allowed to use a loose ring snaffle with a lozenge in the mouthpiece?

5. I don't have a velvet/ribbon browband so would his normal black leather one be ok?

6. Are rubber grip reins ok?

7. I don't have a tweed jacket but I have a black one and a navy one

8.I don't have a plain velvet hat I have a skull cap, a champion ventair and a protector hat, I know these probably are not suitable but which one will be best?

9. Are black or yellow gloves ok?

10. lastly what is correct ring etiquette?

Sorry for all the questions but I want to make sure I am doing nothing wrong :)

Hi:)
Cream jods fine.
Long boots, make sure they are really shiney:)
Whichever saddle you feel looks/feels best, small numnah NOT saddle cloth.
Bit /browband/reins fine.
Jacket wear navy with scull cap velvet cover.
Shirt and tie.
In the ring smile and be considerate.
Listen to the steward/judge and ask if you do not understand what they want you to do.
In tack turnout you should only have to walk round then come inti line to be looked at.
The other class you will probably have to walk/trot/canter as a group ,then do a show on your own.

thankyou for your reply :)

I feel more confident about it now, but I think before I definatley enter I'm going to go and watch a couple of these classes just to see how they run etc.
