When would a maiden mare expect to show signs of being in foal?

Mare would be due in two months if in foal.

Was she scanned in foal?
Normally you'll start to see udder development about 6 weeks before foaling and the bag will gradually increase in size until it's ready to start filling a week or so before she foals

She was scanned empty, but ran with the stallion so it was possible that she had broken and covered in the next cycle. It’s unlikely as the stallion owner thought she had held the first time but a bit of wishful thinking (!) was hoping she may be in foal. She shows no belly at the moment but is in good condition.

I would get her checked asap as a pregnant mare has completely different needs than one becoming fat! That's how I found my bogof, she started putting weight on, if she was just getting fat would have meant more work less food, also her demeanor changed when riding her.

Apart from her loose back end and big bag, our maiden showed no other signs, she really did look just the same for a good three weeks.
