And a damn sight better than this time last year!! Took goddy for his first outing since October on saturday at Arena UK. Wasn't expecting much as only other time he was there he froze and I fell off

However, this weekend we arrived, and I had a very relaxed Goddy, so was feeling quite positive. Just entered the too teeny weeny (75 and 85cm) trailblazrs classes, with the sole aim o having a forward and positive round.

Well, warmed up in the "spooky" indoor warm up beautifully, popped a couple of fences (second time he has been jumped since holiday!) and went in for the 75cm. He jogged in quite happily, went forward off the leg and except almost falling over the first fence (oops!) popped round beautifully, a little bit looky so added extra stride in the double, but generally was very pleased with how keen he felt, and just had a lazy one down.

Stood around for a while and watched the chaos in the warm up ring,

hopped back on, and went into the 85cm. Again felt supremely confident, popped round in a lovely rhythm (he proved he can jump off any leg even if disunited!

) but just made up a fair bit of distance in the double and had the second part down. BUT, overall SO pleased with him, he was a pleasure to handle and was just so relaxed and took everything in his stride

So overall a very positive outing and made it feel far too small, so ready to crck on with BSJA

Hopefully have a vid to post when figure it out...thanks for reading

Not horrendous, they were getting through people very quickly....there were a fair few people there though, but you could spread out between the warm ups. The attached warm up was horrendous though, so many silly people....

That sounds like a positive start to the year, and nothing wrong with umping little classes that's about the extent of my ambition at the moment.

Hi Katy, it just goes to show how much growing up he's done in a year then! That is how I would expect him to behave after his season of eventing, HOWEVER, I am yet to do ANYTHING on Boo

Am aiming at some unaff dressage next weekend, first time for him in an indoor school, so it could be interesting

Hardly done any jumping, in fact I can't remember when I last jumped! I must get hold of Bruce for a lesson soon.

I'm really pleased your man behaved for you, here's to a great season ahead.

Oh bu99er, is he? Mmm, bet he's not coming down to Pontispool any time soon. I think I'll email him, cheers for that.xx

Hey - well done you and G. Don't matter if they are a bit small the first time out. You did so well to get his confidence Sjing last year.
Onwards and upwards!!!

Fiona

Thanks hon, am chuffed with him. Will do the BN and poss disco next time out, but smaller is good for him at mo to teach him to make up distance in doubles and related etc....height isnt a prob for him, its the bits inbetween! Onwards and upwards!
grin.gif

Yeah we're venturing out to do the 95cm this weekend too, whic wasnt a prob in the summer so fingers crossed. He has acually got round a 1.05m track indoors last season (not a comfortable experience!) but he actualluy felt like he enjoyed it at the weekend...so figers crossed! Whereyou off to? You aiming for Oasby?!
