Lost my confidence a bit on the baby haflinger who decided I wanted to go backwards into a forage harvester ( the big things), and have been fairly happy to get the little welshie tacked up for my daughter and send the OH out on the 16.2 TB mare, I either walk or muck out the stables or look after our 5 yr old dau ghter... anywayyyyy

Today my husband was very sore from hunting yesterday and didn't want to ride and my daughter was nagging to go out on the pony so I agreed to take the very sensitive TB mare out, who rein rips and jogs and lives on her nerves lol.. and do you know what???? I had a lovely ride!!

I thought I would be very nervous and shes a bit all over the place and I am only little at 5 foot 3, but surprisingly I just went along with it!! :D Looks like OH has lost the naughty TB!

Yes, that's what I told my brain!! Get on with it, you can ride so whats the big deal!! She marches along 100 mph and jogs and spooks, but is a really nice person, so funnily enough didn't bother me! We humans are complex creatures!! First time I have ever ridden her too, no wonder my husband can't work me out, I struggle too!

isn't it a good feeling when you surprise yourself lol:D i find i go through periods of making excuses not to ride, and then circumstances almost force me too and i thoroughly enjoy myself and sometimes even feel quite pleased with how i've ridden!:o
latest example is the TB we've just go on loan for my sharer to have a bit of fun with, i wasn't fussed about riding him and was happy to let her get on with it, then she was having trouble keeping him in trot, he kept going into canter so in the end i said i'd get on and see what was going on and had a lovely little session with him, he's very responsive to weight aids and compared to riding the big girl it was like riding a feather!!:D:D Now i can't wait for her to go back to school so that i have the excuse to exercise him lol:D:D

Yes, I know what you mean! With this mare is you see her ridden you think OMG she's mental, but in reality, shes all mouth and no trousers when it comes down to it! In fact the other day she was lying down in the field and I put a head collar on her and she couldn't be arsed to get up, funny, but I like her, so felt safe on her! X
