I have a 6/7 year old Dartmoor hill mare. She's 11"2, has locking stifles in both her back legs (that never get very bad) but has jumped 3ft with me.
I personally, have only done a novice clear round and prelim, before when it comes to competing. But my dream, is to begin eventing with her, however small. Problem is, neither of us, have ever been around a cross-country course.
Does anyone have any tips, past experience etc with this situation, that can help me, would be greatly appreciated

I'm taking her XC schooling with a friend, who has been before. I am looking for somewhere suitable for us to compete now though, do I do all 3 sepratley, since it's our first time, or find a 3 phase event near me? I was thinking if I did them sepratley, then should eventing not be for us, we could find one discipline we are better at, and enjoy most, and compete in that? Please bear in mind, she is only 11"2 :L Also, what sort of boots do I get her for XC schooling?
