I have to admit I am a little bit nervous

More because the second test is very like an elementary... I just hope she feels as good tomorrow as she has done the last few days. Since learning to rein back, her whole posture has changed. She feels more uphill and elastic through her neck.

If she does well in N37 I may even consider doing some elementaries in the next couple of months... I feel as though she has gone up a level this week in her work since my lesson with Spencer, he showed me how to keep her soft in her jaw when reining back, and since this I have known 'the feeling' I should be aiming for all of the time.

Any tips for N37?

I've found rein back really useful and have to stop myself doing it too much!

I've never ridden N37 so no tips specific to that one but since its a harder novice: don't worry if a movement goes a bit wrong, just concentrate on what you need to do for the next movement and try to improve it if it comes up for a second time.

Good luck!

After your rein back, dont forget to think forwards! Nothing worse than a horse getting stuck in a rein back and having poor steps after! Its a bit like the walk pirouettes - think forwards and remember the rein back puts the hind legs under them and engages if done well, so use it to your benefit!

Have a fab time and try to enjoy it! At least you only have 1 med canter in this test!!

Are you at Cockshot tomorrow Becki? My friend is writing for N22. I'll get her to wave!! (no sorry only joking!).
