And i thought I was riding fit LOL.
took my pony out hunting yesterday for the first time. had a fantastic day, not too fast (so I'm told) which was great as I didn't want to go crazy on my first time but we had some super gallops. there were lots of friendly people out - although my friend's pointer did fetch my pony a crack on the knee when we were standing around at one point. My fault for getting too close but we were very crowded...
I am stiff as anything today, my shoulders are aching loads. Polly loved it, she's obivously been before but she likes to be at the front. I started off keeping her well back thinking that if she did take off I'd have some time to pull her up but she was impossible even in her kimberwick and pulled like a train. After a bit though I discovered if she was up the front she stopped pulling so I just took a deep breath and braved it. My arms are killing though now!
I was so terrified of doing something stupid but actually it was very straightforward and the master was great at telling everyone what was expected of them. [phew].
Pony adored it, she was watching the hounds like a hawk clearly trying to figure out where they were going! I thought she'd be a nightmare at the standing around bits but apart from a few excited bunny hop rears she was good as gold. Cant wait to go again.
