Just wanted to say thanks to all those who offered tips whenever I have asked silly questions about position and sitting properly in canter etc etc. Well for the first time ever my instructor said the word 'perfect' as I did my leg yielding over one direction to the middle of the arena and then back the other way (I think its leg yielding in English, when you are go forwards but with back legs crossing in equal measure).
I am positive most problems I have been having have come down to position, I have really been working on it and doing loads of work without stirrups and its really paid off (plus stretching and pilates), I can feel a difference of how he listeins and responds to me. And I feel so much more in control and that things look better. Of course there is loads of work to do as bum does still involuntarily fly out of the saddle every now and then, but the point is I feel we are at last getting somewhere.
Monday I will be putting all the tips I have been given about jumping into practice so we will see how that goes, fingers crossed just as well as the dressage!!!
