Yesterday was the first time I hacked my youngster out since backing him. It was his first time on the roads too. I was a nervous wreck - my goodness I cannot tell you all how nervous I was. He was an absolute superstar; he comletely surprised and over whelmed me. I went out with my friend and her very sensible mare. She was fanstastic. When we got back to the yard we all hugged and cheered - it was such an achievement.

WOOHOOO!!!!!

I'm going out with him at 2pm today! My friend is going on my mare who is a sensible enough. I hope he'll be just as good today and that yesterday wasn't just beginners luck!

That's great, you've obviously done a really good job with him. Enjoy today's hack and don't forget to update how it went. It's really good to hear such positive things like this.

I most certainly will update you. Thanks!

Its taken over 1 year to get to this stage. I have taken it REALLY slow. Parlty due to time, partly due to confidence. I have done an awful lot of ground work with him and just knew it was time to either sell him to someone who has both time and confidence or to bite the bullet and ride him.

Well done. Confidence is a very tough one to crack and I've had my fair share of wibbles over the years. Good for you, now you get to reap the rewards of having taken your time to do everything properly with your youngster.
