So I managed to do a bit more stroking petting, moving hands down legs. My pony and I have a long way to go. I have an instructor and past instructors. I'm thinking maybe placid would work. She has become dominant over me. She stamps her foot swings her bum around won't let me near her back feet, front feet are fine. I have fear that I need to embrace. I did manage to pick up and hold for a few seconds her back feet. I should get vet out to eliminate back problems and arthritis. She is 18. I have grown up around horses all my life but never tacked one up never owned my own. I have had a number of lessons in past and still a long time ahead of more lessons. My pony is a rescue from the new forest and purchased in December she has a broken ligament grown back in one of her back legs in wrong place when she was vetted. but vet said nothing to worry about. She puts more weight on other leg. Could be imbalanced. I don't know how she was mistreated before but this could be the problem and being a novice don't help.
