Having had pony for 13 years we are going to go and try our very first showing show!

But I am clueless! She is PB Arab and it’s a fairly big agricultural show.

Should I be using coloured velvet brown band? What colour?

We only have a black dressage saddle - will this be okay?

Should I have a blue jacket?

Thinking of doing the ridden and in hand Arab class.

Any help massively appreciated!

You can have a coloured browband most have one with red in it at a higher level, try and match it to your tie and shirt and jacket you should really have tweed but blue is fine if that's all you have.

A black dressage saddle will be OK but most will have brown show saddles at that level but I wouldn't worry about it.

She should be plaited with a pulled tail.

Burgundy cream and gold browband would look nice on chestnut then you can have a cream shirt and Burgundy tie, but just use what you have if you don't want the extra expense.

What show you doing?

Thank you - I actually have tweed so that's even better. I thought I had to wear blue for part bred's so that's good to know I do not need a new jacket.

Glendale agricultural at Wooler.
