First time trip to Burghley - travelling question

I managed to bag some unexpected tickets to Burghley for XC day tomorrow (feeling very lucky!) and was wondering what time to get there and how busy it's going to be on the roads?? I'm driving down from Mcr so will probably come down M1 through Notts unless anyone has a better route?? Sooooo excited!!!!

Burghley is on the A1 so best to go that way.
