Any advice please on how to bring my 6 year old cob back into work after being turned away for the winter. I don't want to overdo things and risk an injury.
personally im a fan of miles and miles of walking on roads, introducing short bursts of trot after a couple of weeks and going from there.
wouldnt go straight into the school just because the surface tends to be too deep (not good for tendons/ligaments after time off), and they dont have the strength/flexibility to truly work properly after being turned away anyway.
Thanks
My problem with the road walking is we only have one road up to the end and back again about half a mile (and it is very flat). That is unless you fancy walking down a major A road! I have taken her out twice and long reined her there and back but it is not very exciting. I had a school built at the end of the summer and would obviously like to make use of it. Could I do my walk work in there?
