Fitting a curb chain to a myler bit - help!

Does anyone use a myler eggbutt with hooks and the curb chain? I bought one of these to use on George for hacking and jumping and he seems very happy, but I did think I would use a curb chain with it for jumping and xc comps when George can get a bit stronger (we had been using a kimblewick with an elastic curb before the myler with some success).

Problem is I bought a pair of myler curb hooks but when I tried to fit it last night I just couldn’t get it to sit right. However I tried it ended up level with his noseband rather than anywhere near his curb groove, and when I applied pressure to the reins it seemed to have no effect. Has anyone got any fitting tips, or even better a picture of one fitted correctly.

According to this website the curb will sit higher with a Myler snaffle than it would with most other bits - sounds like you've done it right
