Hi
Can I ask a very stupid question about fitting double bridles.
My horse has used one for showing for years and so I have had quite a lot of practice using one.
However I have my BHS Stage 3 exam next week in which we have to fit a double and now suddenly I feel like I have never done it!
Obviously you lay the bradoon over the curb when putting the bits into the horses mouth, and once in, I have always guided them into a comfortable position for my horse by putting some contact onto the bradoon so it sits nicely behind the curb.
is this wrong?!
any advice for someone who suddenly becomes fingers and thumbs in an exam!

Thank you!

That sounds about right for actually putting it on, but actually fitting the bridle (as in making sure it is correctly adjusted for each particular horse) means making sure the bits are at the right height in the horses mouth. The bradoon should sit a little higher than a regular snaffle and the curb should be just touching the corners of the mouth. Don't sweat it, you'll be grand :)
