Fitting of a drop noseband

I have not fit one for years so was wondering whether anyone had any images of a correctly fitting drop nose band???

Theres a good pic on the BD website of Damian Hallam riding Spirit Freedom in a drop. It came up at the top when I clicked on results.

It really bugs me when people fit them too low.

Thanks... want to make sure Han's is right.

I rode for about 90 mins in it tonight and got 10 mins of good work out of her because it was freezing, she is newly clipped and she has had the weekend off

But, I do think it helped the tongue situation a little

Sorry to hijack your post Becki... But you could someone honestly tell me if I fitted Castle's drop noseband too low in this photo?

As you can see it was fitted quite loosely...

I would think it was a bit too low from that picture, only by a hole though... thanks for posting this, would be interested to see what people say as it will give me a good indication of whether mine is fitted correctly.

Does this look too low as well? I think it has gone up one hole since then. Other pics show it a little higher since then.

Yes, too low for me Castle.

This is how I fit mine.... (tbh, in this pic it looks as tho it could go up half a hole, but it was v loose)

Can't see pics at work but the strap over the top of the nose should be 4 fingers width above the top of the nostril and not over the bottom of the bony part of the nasal bone.

I prefer them not too tight - my lad can be 'busy' in the mouth and I fit his so I can easily get two fingers under the bottom strap - this seems to do the trick
