I know there is someone on here who does towbar fitting or towing lessons - can't remember, probably completely wrong!!

I need to have a towbar fitted. Local garage have quoted me a ridiculous amount of money.

I have a Ssangyong Rexton 2.7 TDI and can get the kit off ebay. Are there mobile fitters out there? Or should I bite the bullet and pay £400 to have one done?

Oh, and edited to add, I am in Devon, near West Somerset/Somerset borders.

I live in Norfolk so prob not the same people, but if you spend few mins on google you should be able to find a mobile fitter that will come to you to do it.

To give you a rough idea, I had a mobile fitter out to put a non detachable witter towbar onto my 2008 freelander for about £250. it took about 1.5hrs.

Landrover had quoted me £700 when i bought it!! So i told them where to stick it!!

You'd do better to find a local self employed mechanic or a mobile & have him fit it, you'll get a much better deal. Garages & large companies have more overheads & have to charge more so they can pay the receptionist, rent on the offices etc & not just the wages of the fitter. ;)
