Ive owned my hat for far too long and have fallen off a few too many times  so i think its high time i spent some money on me and not the ponio for once!! :D

Ive already splashed out and brought a gatehouse HS1 for xc :D but would ideally like another hat for DR and SJ, i personally think fixed peak look smarter especially for DR.

what are your opinions?? fixed peak or no fixed peak for DR and SJ?? also velvet or non velvet?? (if ur opinion is fixed peak!!!)

also can anyone recommend me a fixed peak or non fixed peaked hat for under £100??

i would like a ventair but ive been told the hat shape just doesnt fit my head so that one's already ruled out!!

thanks in advance :) i have grilled chicken and cous cous to offer :)

well im with you on the HS1! such a beautiful hat  just 12more days till i get mine :D i plan on using it for showjumping too but if i had the option i'd get a nice understated PROtector but under a £100 charles owen do some nice fixed peak not velvet but suede effect ones ? i also like the hard shell ones that most of the olympic team had on that you can personalise if you wish. but for dressage i think a nice velvet and flesh coloured strap cant be beaten :) mines a charles owen and really old so needs updating!! but cheap wise the cheapest one i have found with flesh chin strap is the JTE showjumper is the cheapest and i found ribinsons - were lucky to have a store near us - has the best selection of these hats about 5/6 different makes of them!

its an awesome hat.... im currently parading around in it :D :D

mmm i could possibly increase my budget :p but i think your thinking along the same lines as me with the velvet and flesh strap being the nicest, its a shame the nearest tack shops to me dont stock them with the flesh straps! im feeling a road trip coming on! :p i just hate seeing professional pics of me doing DR with a floppy peak which never fits exactly perfect so has a nice gap between the end of the hat and the begining of the peak!!! not smart enough!!!

I got the jte showjumper a few months ago as something I could use for showing and dressage, I think it was only about £44! I wore it all day at a show inthe blazing heat and it was surprisingly comfy too.
