fixing side reins onto the D ring on saddle?

could you do it rather than putting them onto the girth straps?

Yep - well I do. Moray Nicholson told me to! Had some dressage lessons and pony leans so much my arms will soon snap. Its really worked because shes learning to soften to the contact rather than me giving up because my arms hurt. She is a bit of a special case though. Also do it when lunging.
 
To follow from my last post _ forgot to say its working! She's rounder in a truer outline and much less leaning. Can do it without side reins now! yey! only been try to sort the problem for about 10 years! Moray is a god

Just a quick question? Is this for riding in or lunging? I would not suggest that you ride in side reins, forgive me if I am wrong and your not going to do this.

If the pony rears or trips and gets a leg over the side reins while your riding, you will do some serious damage, so I would not advicate it
