We have a ramp that is rotted through and a panel thats popped out. We are taking it to someone who fixes them but curious if anyone has done the ramp themselves? We are not going to be travelling with the trailer but will be using it for training and the ramp is whats holding us back.

Anyway, has anyone done it and managed to keep it light ?

You could just order the panel (it would be the right size) and fit it yourselves to save labour costs, not a difficult job as long as you have the right tools!

OH is doing my ramp for me. The size of sheet of wood needed was 5’x5’ so took him a couple of days to find somewhere round here that could source it - most wood yards do 4’x8’. He sourced a piece of 5’x10’ from a local Horsebox build company in the end. He’ll use the offcut to do my front ramp too, doesn’t particularly need it but may as well.

I don’t think it’s a particularly difficult job to do… but he’s a mechanic and has been fixing up horseboxes for years. I wouldn’t have a clue where to start, myself 😂

We're doing mine at the moment. We just ordered the panel from our local supplier and it comes with the colour coating already on there. Just be careful that they order the correct one. They ordered the rear for mine and I need the front, so we have to cut it down to size! After that, fitting is easy (well it is for me, as OH is doing it 🤭 ).
