Flakey Hooves

The top of my mares hooves are a bit flakey, doesnt seem bothered by it, and farrier hasnt mentioned it, so i guess its not serious!
Any idea's what it could be?

Sounds like normal exfoliation of the periople, this is a soft horn that joins the skin to the hoof wall, similar to the cuticle on your nails. In dry conditions it can show visible flaking that will vary from horse to horse. Ask your farrier to confirm this if your still worried.
