I do not normally worry too much about the odd chip but I am a bit concerned my haflinger is loosing small chunks of hoof wall from her back feet. She has not had shoes on the backs for about 3 months, farrier says she should be fine without those but is shod in front.
It is just coming up in squareish chunks about an inch or slightly bigger. I was thinking I could ask the farrier to roll the toes?
I have been feeding micronised linseed for a few months for help with skin and also mag ox, and have just ordered some brewers yeast. She just has plain hay chaff and hi fibre nuts.
Any advice? I could try and take pictures if that helps!
Oh she is out 24/7 on grass that is not particularly rich but has not been too wrecked over winter.
