Flash bridle for shows?

Im not sure if i am allowed to use a flash bridle/band for going to a show as i am doing one in August.

We show our sec d mare very successfully in a snaffle and flash have done for years w edo county and local even hoys quals no problem ,judges all have their own views on bits tack ect just take note of any who mention it to you and dont show under them again ,we have only had one judge say anything in several years

A Flash is incorrect for flat showing classes, but can be used for Workers.

Right now i am really confused! The show is just a local one ( its not to big).

I think it is possibly one of those unwritten rules, the same as I don't think there is actually a rule anywhere stating you should not wear a black jacket but that is also one of those things you just don't do. Best thing to do is search google images for pictures of HOYS/RIHS show ponies (the actual finals not qualifiers) and that will give you an idea of how to get it right

If its a riding pony class to be 'technically correct' you should either be in a snaffle and cavasson noseband, or a double/pelham bridle.

If its a a riding club pony class, you will be fine in a snaffle and flash.

Thats right unwritten and as such a good judge would not put you down for having one on ,but judges have their own ideas about what they like to see and most would want to see pony going its beat and well in flash than badley without ok she may say gave you second due to flash but hey thats showing many judges dont like wilkie bits or swales but pleanty show in them and they are allowed so judges should accept this ,at local show i wouldnt worry about useing your flash maybe after a few shows you can manage without it or use a bit stronger bit good luck
