Flash strap fastenings

Ok this is not very important but which way is correct for a flash strap to fasten

a (excess strap points down, tucked into keeper) - http://www.robinsons-uk.com/products/Productdetail.asp?ProductCode=33178

or

b (excess strap points up, tucked into keeper and loop attached to noseband - http://www.robinsons-uk.com/products/Productdetail.asp?ProductCode=33174

All the info I can find in BHS book is that all buckles should be away from the horses mouth

I have always done it as per b - strap points up and I can tuck it neatly away into keeper and noseband. Also I am right handed and it just comes more naturally to do it up with my right hand. Now you have me thinking and for all these years of doing horses I don't actually know if it is completly right and why. I presume I was shown that way and carried on. Is there a right and wrong way??

I've always believed (a) to be correct, that way if the strap comes out of the keeper it will still lie close to the horse's nose whereas if done as in (b) the strap will flap about and possibly upset or startle the horse.

When i brought my bridle the flash was on as in (a) but since loosing the keeper its now done up as in (b) . I would assume that (a) is correct

Always done it B, if surplus strap goes that far- if not A
