Following on from Flash's lameness investigation last week, today he had steroids and hyaluronic acid injected into his fetlock joint. From his Xray it was suspected that some bone remodelling of the sesamoid has occurred. He was absolutely hopping after a flexion test last week, but he has had flexion tests before and been fine. The vet thought it may have been going on for some time, possibly years, so hopefully can compare back to some Xrays taken 2 years ago where nothing was spotted. He's never had an obvious injury to that leg, no heat, swelling, cuts or scars and has never done any hard work, he's only 7 and we took it really steady. If it was an old injury I would have thought we'd have noticed it, but apart from now and a slight lameness (hence the Xrays) 2 years ago, we've never had any problems. Just going to have to wait and see how he responds to treatment. Has anyone had any experience of an injury like this?? Vibes for Flash please if you can spare them

Vet came back to see if Flash had responded to his treatment on Friday, he was much better but still lame, so he has 4 weeks of steroid and anti-inflammatory injections and expensive joint supplements so that we've tried everything we can medication-wise, and hope he comes sound. Fingers crossed and healing vibes for him, I'm really hoping we don't have to resort to some kind of surgery
