Does anyone know a good home remedy to help a pony with flat feet ? My shetland has suffered from laminitis in the past, but is relatively free of it now, very fit and full of bounce. However, whenever the ground gets hard - difficult to imagine in this country at the moment - his front feet become painful because his soles are flat on the ground and he is unshod. He really needs carpet slippers !

Your problem is with the word "relatively".

Until he is completely free of laminitis he is unlikely to get concave feet. I assume that you know what you have to do to get him completely free of lamintis, but for me it would be no grass, at all, hay soaked at least 12 hours, yeast and magnesium oxide. Some people get good results with things like cinnamon.
