Is there anything I can do to help build up my horses very low heels on front feet (he is a TBx)?
He moves very flat footed, although his soles are quite normally concave and great big healthy frogs...... The heels arent contracted at all and the heel is very wide. I would say that his heels are at 8pm if he was facing towards 9pm if that makes sense. His back feet are unshod and heels are OK. Sorry havent got photos which would have helped explain....

I didnt realise how bad they were until his shoe came off out in the field recently so would like to start looking at what I can do - hoof growth supplements, exercises etc and techniques my farrier might be using to correct.....

Farrier is leaving bars long on shoes which I understand to be good and I feed him TopSpec Comp Balancer which ahs the Biotin in.

Also his back feet are starting to splay a little (unshod)- any reason for this?

My farrier seems to be fairly good but isnt the type to say much or explain what he is doing so when he comes nexct week I really want to have a good discussion with him.

Many thanks in advance for any help you can give....

This is a lighthearted response. I attended lecture by farrier - one of the most knowledgeable in Scotland. He mostly worked in the west rather wet.

His advise to a client with a flat footed TB was move to Edinburgh - colder and drier on the East coast - did the trick. His reasoning to complicated and technical for bear of little brain like me. Ask your vet/farrier.

Personally I would get yourself a well recommended remedial farrier who is keen to sort your horses foot balance out.
My TB has flat feet, collapsed heels & was lame as a result. 3 weeks after being well shod by a remedial farrier who took great care in correcting foot balance & I had a sound horse.
My horses feet will never be 'good' but a good farrier can improve them & support your horses feet.
Mine is now also on Formula 4 feet.
Feet no longer crack, can hold decent nails & generally look a million times better!

Also worth looking at http://www.eponashoe.com/

My lad came to me with underun heels and too long toes (due to bad farriery) and I took his shoes off and my farrier put Epona shoes on him, they have worked wonders. His horn has grown at a fantastic rate and it's helped hugely with brining his heels back. Can't recommend them enough!
