I don't know if such a thing exists... but I'm fed up with how my current breeches seem to emphasize my lower stomach (which is horrid nowadays after my c-section last year) and then my show jacket seems to open up right there as well so my gut just sort of hangs out and I'm very self conscious about it!! My breeches sit normally on my waist, they aren't high waisted - would these help for a start?

Can anyone suggest any nice competition (white or beige) breeches which are flattering of the lower tum?! I also want a new show jacket as mine isn't flattering nowadays and is of the old material, I'd like one of the new modern material type ones but a lot of those seem to be VERY tailored (as in too short and neat - only suited to skinny people!) which is not what I want!

Any ideas would be great! Not got a huge budget either although will spend a bit more on the show jacket considering it should last a while.

Hööks has a large variety of extremely nice quality high waisted jods :) They also do a show jacket in black or navy for 60 euros that comes down past the hips and has three buttons in front to keep it closed tight. Other than that *hugs* I'm sure you feel it more than it can actually be seen, but I love to be really 'tucked in' myself if I have to put on show gear, and I especially hate feeling like my jacket is gaping open. If it gives you a confidence boost you could also look into shaping underwear, it's advanced a lot from the circulation killing lycra magic pants you used to get!

Edit: here's the jacket I'm thinking of :)

Thanks fattylumpkin - great find! Have you ordered from them before? Do you know roughly what their postage is (I assume they post to the UK, are they Swedish?). Lots of nice stuff on there and very reasonably priced especially this jacket! I do wonder if the arms are quite narrow on these jackets though... hate things tight on my upper arm! Wish I could try one on! The breeches look good too. May be asking for a few things from Father Christmas...

I've ordered some winter coats for my mum's dogs back home and they turned up no problem :) I've always gone over the free postage limit, but if you don't qualify for free postage it's 9.50 euros I think, which is quite steep! Otherwise if you're ordering a few things it should be free. I've two pairs of white Comfort CRW jods from Hööks for shows, they sit nicely and the waistband doesn't cut into my belly which is a relief, though YO and her niece prefer the sureseat versions. I've also bought some chaps and a thermal jacket and some overalls and they've all been really nice. Material on the jods is thick enough to hide a bit of a knickerline too. Sadly no idea on how their show jackets tend to sit or if they're tight on the shoulders!

I hope you find what you need though, or that Father Christmas brings it to you :D

I feel your pain MagicMelon. Always had a bit of belly podge but after having my little boy its decidedly worse :( I have some high waisted jodhs from Derby House which I love and actually find that by going down a size they squish things in a little :O I'm also on the hunt for a new show jacket and think the issue is the buttons - the jackets with 3 buttons seem to gape quite high - I'm on the lookout for one with four buttons or with the last button a bit lower than normal. :D

could you bear to wear control pants? I know they are the least sexy thing in the world and lots aren't comfy but some of the sort of less 'structural' ones are ok and they would probably at least partially solve what you're worrying about?

Or you could just do what I do and give up caring! :p
