Flax Oil does it help sweat itch?

I don't know about the trial but personally it has worked for me. However, I think it also has to do with the rest of the diet, therefore a combination of factors. I feed about 25ml of linseed oil (another name for Flax) twice a day, with non mollassed Hi Fi and Alfalfa plus a handful of High fibre nuts, and kwik beet (no sugar beet pulp). I also add Yeast Sacc, salt, Top spec comprehensive and magnesium. Garlic is definately a no, no. What I did notice when I changed to this diet was the horse's poo had a different smell and there were hardly any midges hanging around the muck heap early morning or evening during the summer. So basically, linseed/flax, no sugar and Yeast sacc (or vitamin B/marmite) promoting gut and skin health deters the little blitters!!!

I haven't heard of it, is it with cold pressed oil though?

My pony does well on micronized linseed and brewers yeast. She only has mild sweet itch but it returned last year when I ran out of brewers yeast for a period.
There is a trial with another supplement here. http://www.sweetrelief.co.uk/
