Ok now I thought they were the same thing as they both come from the same source, however, a company over here are selling 'Cold pressed flax oil'. They are promoting it to be high in Omega 3,6,9 and very good for fertility, performance, mobililty and skin conditions. They are saying they have developed new machinery and methods in extracting the oil. I got a sample of it a while ago and it is different to linseed oil in that it's not as viscous and smells sweeter. Has anyone heard of this before or used it? Or are they just remarketing linseed oil and charging twice the price?

I read a post recently on flax vs linseed. As i understand it it is much better to buy the flax seeds yourself & grind them up very finely. Apparently the flax seed (from which linseed oil is derived) is much better if the whole seed ie outer husk is also fed but very finely ground. it is said to be much more beneficial & offers alot more than just linseed by itself (although linseed by its self is very good for stiff joints.) Sorry i cant be more specific but i know from what i read feeding the whole seed but ground up cirtainly sounded a whole lot better.

We know they are the same thing! Feeding the whole flax, ground up including the husk, is much more beneficial than feeding just the extracted linseed oil.
