Flea control needed!! Frontline no good!

As Frontline only kills fleas AFTER they have bitten the dog I can't really see the point of it as it's so expensive and my dogs are always down rabbit holes so would be being bitten all day! I used to use Nuvan Top which killed fleas on contact with the product. Does anyone know of anything else like that??
