fleas and lice

Henry did have lice, I used lice powder and they died. then they came back. I am again de-licing him lol.

Can horses get fleas? (sorry im really unsure though and i know its stupid). If so how do u treat it? Will lice powder kill them?

If you're having trouble clearing them up then get some deosan from your vet and bathe him in it. Make sure that he's not wildly hairy though as it gives the little blighters more room to hide

Coopers Fly Repellent Plus is good on lice; never heard of a horse with fleas though!!!

I clipped my boy, bathed in Dermoline Insecticidal Shampoo, lice powder when dry and then rebathed about ten days later and repowdered. Worked for me and was realativly cheap too

horses deffinatley do not carry fleas.

Coopers is brilliant, every tack room should have a bottle, does exactly what it says on the tin...I mean bottle

A thorough sponging in Deosect solution (bought online from agric supplier) finally nailed my weanling's lice last year (she came home from stud with them). That, plus disinfecting her brushes and sprinkling lice powder inside all her rugs on a daily basis for a couple of weeks. This did finally annihilate the flipping critters.
