OMG have 2 old english sheepdogs today I found a flea on one of them they were both frontlined last week routinley and had 4fleas 2 weks ago Any advice greatfully recieved

Not sure how true it is but have heard that Frontline isn't 100% effective now, so vets now recommend Sronghold.

However as frontline works by killing the little blighters when they bite, I guess it could mean it just hadn't had a feed yet!!!

Flipping weather seems perfect for them at the moment, found one on Oz the other day.

Grrr - I hate fleas

My spaniel came with an army of them and I have to admit it took months to completely get rid of them all - poor dog

You have to hoover every inch of your carpet regularly as they will live in them infinitely, I also used an insecticide carpet spray. My dogs both sleep outside in the kennel at night so the same goes for all their bedding.

Also, I now use Advantix rather than Frontline - seems to be more effective.

Treat your home with a household flea treatment, even though they are flea treated and fleas still alive in the home will still hop on for a feed

they will die but treat the house to kill any house dwelling fleas.

I have also had problems with frontline this year, had to spray our dogs twice before they stopped scratching and am sure I saw a flea on the JRT tonight!! I was starting to wonder if fleas were become resistant to frontline.
Do any of the collars work?

have treated the house have no carpet only wood floors and tiles all bedding has been changed but still have a problem I have picked them off the dog over last couple of days go for 4-5 days without seeing any then there they are again large as life have not tried the advantix it that over the counter or vet only treatment

I did the dog and cats a couple of weeks ago and regularly spray the carpets, bedding etc with Indorex - they still have fleas - I can tell when its a problem as the kids complain they are getting bitten

I have a large bottle of the spray of frontline but will get something else when it runs out as I am not convinced any more regarding its effectiveness. However, the kids bedrooms are very untidy so its difficult to spray in there so its just possible that theres not enough indorex about - I keep telling them that they need to tidy to stop being bitten
