I have a dog and two cats
I have discovered fleas on one of the cats :( they are house cats so it can only be the dog to blame although I can't find any on him
I use frontline reqularly to prevent him bringing them back but this doesn't seem to be working now

What is the best product to use now to
A : get rid of them
B: get them out the house/carpet (I'm assuming there will be some)
C: prevent them getting them again

Obviously the vets are now going to be closed until Tuesday but there are some large pet stores open tomorrow (pets at home) is it worth buying a flea shampoo to bath them with to begin to get rid of them ?
Is there anything I can get from the pet shop (or asda)until Tuesday when the vets are open ?

Advantage is more effective then frontline. This is available OTC
Advocate is brilliant but is Pom v
Indorex or acclaim to do the house
Regular application and or checking is all you can do to remain flea free.
It's been so mild nothings really died. I'm fly spraying the horses already and the garden is awash with ladybugs, bees, flies. I even spotted a butterfly today.

Vets advise against Front line now as fleas have developed an immunity to it. Use Advantage, or one with the same active ingredient. There are only a few makes available. Sorry I cannot remember the ingredient or other brands offhand and am posting from my phone so can't check. You will probably need to spray your carpets and furniture etc

I had a bit of a flea problem at one point due to Frontline resistance. I switched to Advantage, hovered a lot and bathed my dog with Animology flea shampoo every couple of weeks (in between flea treatments) it took 3 or so months but it sorted the problem without having to spray the house which I couldn't have done due to having reptiles.
