Usually use advocate, but apparently this is all my vets can send out at the mo?

Is it actually worth using? I'm sceptical given I've never even heard of it...

Can you pay for a prescription over the phone, they Email it to you then you buy it online. I scan the prescription to the company.

This is what i was hoping they would do but they are refusing as they haven't seen her in nearly a year and don't know current weight (she's a greyhound so bathroom scales are out ?)
I'm currently without a car, so vets trip is two buses away, doable if necessary but a bit of a headache just to get her weighed ?‍♀️

I weigh my greyhounds on the bathroom scales ? Weigh me - weigh me holding greyhound - subtract first weight from second ?

well, that’s if it’s a normal sized greyhound that I can actually pick up, not Ace ?

Does she need worming/defleaing ? I only occasionally worm my dogs (when they have been sharing the cats kills) and treat for fleas even less.

Only tend to do fleas through the summer, worming yes. She's a pain in the backside for bin raiding etc

Easier said than done with a bad back, ? would be a you've been framed moment with the wiggling hound

presumably if they havent seen her in a year she will need vaccinating so you will need to take her anyway and could get it then?

Fleascreen is weight dosed anyway so your dog should still need to be weighed if your vets are following rules and I have not looked but am guessing that wormscreen is the same.

How much does she usually weigh?
The weight range on flea amd worming treatment is fairly large so unless she is near a cut of weight then it shouldn't be a problem.

She's around 29/30kgs usually, maybe slightly less at the mo.

I would query the need for an up to date weight with a vet (not receptionist) as your dog is comfortably in the over 25kg weight range, has been seen within 12 months and I am guessing your not noticing anything health wise that you have concerns about.
You know she is on with advocate and now may not be the best time to try a new product when it's not really necessary.

It’s the same as frontline plus :) Has the extra ingredient to frontline. Seems a decent enough compromise- it’s a different category to the prescription only ones hence they’re happy to dispense without her having been seen recently.

She is, touch wood, and always has been very healthy, only ever been to the vets for routine Vaccs etc and she's now 6. Been incredibly lucky after last greyhound who was in for injuries and problems regularly ?‍♀️?

That's good to know ?
